For this prompt, I revisited Wrapped in Rain by Charles Martin—a book I had started before but never quite made it through.

This time around, I was determined to give it another try. Wrapped in Rain is a deeply emotional story that weaves together themes of love, loss, and healing, following a man who must confront painful parts of his past in order to move forward. The writing is rich and reflective, the kind that asks you to slow down and really feel what’s happening.

I think the reason I didn’t finish it the first time had less to do with the story and more to do with timing. Sometimes a book just meets us at the wrong moment in life. And sometimes, when we come back to it later, we’re in a better place to receive it.

This time, I appreciated it more. The depth, the emotion, and the message about working through hurt rather than running from it—it all landed differently.

It’s a good reminder that not every unfinished book is meant to stay that way. Sometimes, it’s just waiting for the right time.
