For this prompt, I stepped outside my usual reading preferences and chose Lovely One by Ketanji Brown Jackson.
I’ll be honest—I’m still not quite sure how I felt about this one. It’s not my typical genre, but I found it very interesting, especially in the way it touched on aspects of government and law—areas I don’t usually spend much time focused on.
Lovely One offers a personal and insightful look into Justice Jackson’s life, her journey, and the experiences that shaped her path. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the legal system and the determination it takes to navigate it.
While it may not have been a favorite, I’m glad I read it. Sometimes the purpose of a reading challenge isn’t to find books we love—it’s to broaden our perspective and learn something new.
And this one definitely did that.
