Life on the Farm: Meet My Crew 🐾🐑

If you’ve ever wondered what life looks like around here, the short answer is: full, busy, and full of heart. Animals aren’t just part of my days—they’re part of my stories, my routines, and my joy.

Let’s start indoors.

The Cats 🐱

I share my home with four cats, each with their own personality and opinions about absolutely everything. They supervise my writing, nap on anything important, and remind me daily to slow down. Whether they’re curled up near my keyboard or watching the world from a sunny window, they bring a quiet comfort to our home.

The Dogs 🐶

Then there are four dogs, three who live inside and one very important pup who lives outside with a job to do.

Our livestock guardian dog (Atticus) keeps watch over the sheep day and night. While the house dogs enjoy warm beds and belly rubs, this dog is happiest doing what he was born to do—protecting the flock. Knowing the sheep are safe gives me peace of mind, especially as lambing season approaches.

The Sheep 🐑

At the heart of our farm are 19 sheep, and they truly make this place feel alive.

  • 17 ewes, all expecting lambs in mid-February
  • 1 bum lamb, who holds a special place in my heart
  • And Finn, my famous buck and the inspiration behind Meet Finn the Curious Sheep

Finn is curious, confident, and full of personality—just like in his book. Watching him interact with the flock reminds me how stories often begin right in front of us, if we’re paying attention.

Looking Ahead to Lambing Season 🌱

With lambing season just around the corner, the farm is buzzing with anticipation. There will be long nights, early mornings, tiny hooves, and probably a few surprises along the way. I’ll be sharing much more about that soon—because lambing season is truly my favorite time of year.

For now, this little crew is my world. They inspire my writing, ground me in routine, and remind me every day why I love this life so much.

Thanks for being here and sharing it with me 💛
